As part of the pollution art project in the Ijmond, there was a art competition.  First place got the chance to actually build the idea.                    This was the first time Hermanders won this competion. 

The idea of the pollution art project is that there is a series of public sculptures around Beverwijk, Wijk aan Zee, Heemskerk and Ijmuiden.  The sculptures are all build from scrap/ trash and leftover materials from public spaces and company’s in the area. 

This was 2018.  Also 2019 and 2020 the contest was won by Hermanders.   2019 was the ‘Sea mirror’ and 2020 was’ the Anchor’.
